In 2021, the Downtown West BIA introduced ArtWalk, an online interactive map featuring information about artworks, artists, fun facts, and engagement questions. A new version, ArtWalk 2.0, will launch in August 2023 as a free mobile app with audio tours and augmented reality experiences. The BIA aimed to create a visual identity to fit the project's needs, for use on print media like posters and signs, as well as digital media such as apps, websites, and social media.
Brief
ArtWalk needed a wordmark to represent its visual identity. The logo had to look futuristic but remain simple and clean to highlight featured artists and installations. Custom lettering was used, with a focus on including "AR" for Augmented Reality. The project also required custom pole wraps and banners that served as advertisements and helped prevent "Vertical Trash," such as flyers and graffiti.
